Hanging Baskets

Use fresh potting mix - the better the quality the more 'goodies' in the mix to nourish plants

Tip: Use Living Earth More than Potting Mix or Organic Potting Mix

Tip: Line the basket with a plastic saucer or shopping bag, to retain moisture

Make sure your plants are moist at the roots before planting - or soak them thoroughly first

Planting annuals: 'pinch' out the tips to make them bush out and put plenty in the basket

Good plants for sun - petunias - perennial petunia 'Bubblegum', lobelias, pansies, 'Dusty Miller', begonias

Good plants for shade - impatiens, violas, fuchsias, tuberous begonias

Tip: add a perennial plant with foliage interest and keep changing the annuals each season

Tip: choose some plants with 'cascading' growth and plant at the edge of the basket

Planting - firm them into the mix and water well

Tip: water on Living Earth Organic Liquid Compost at planting every couple of weeks thereafter

Leave the hanging basket on the ground or on a table for the first 10 days, to check that all plants have 'taken' and the growth has begun - gives the opportunity to replace withered plants

Water regularly throughout the warm seasons.
