Rain Garden Mix is a premium bio-retention filter media for use in minimising and decontaminating storm water run-off in urban areas of Auckland, Hamilton and other regions.Rain Garden Mix is actively used for Council and other commercial projects to ensure that surface water can be managed effectively and filtered onto stormwater outlets.
Product Features: A sand predominant mix blended with premium loam topsoil (sometimes with a small proportion of compost added) that will absorb water readily, whilst allowing for a slower release of that water, reducing the possibility of overflow onto footpaths and roads.
Product Benefits: Rain Garden Mix is manufactured for use in the rain gardens as set out in the Auckland Council specification: Storm Water Management Devices Auckland Region GDOI, and is the preferred media specified and installed across many of urban New Zealand's significant commercial and urban developments. In addition to its functional application of managing water flow, the mix will support establishment of suitable plants in these gardens, provided those plants are supported through early growth periods.
